See Me on YouTube!

One of the things a performer has to get used to is seeing photos and video of themselves. It gets easier with time, and sometimes I find it fun to look back on previous shows and see how far I've come! I'm also sharing videos of my student troupe, Raks Habibi.

Performances from 2016:

March 2016: From the Madd Hatters Hafla, a fundraiser for Gypsy Cats NFP. Everyone had to wear a hat of some sort.:

2015 was been a lot of fun! Here are some performances you may enjoy:

  • From an annual favorite event, Ho Ho Ho Habibi: Raks Habibi performing their own choreography to Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Randy Travis
  • Here I am, doing my signature Big Band Bellydance style to Rock-a-Bye Your Baby with a Dixie Melody by Judy Garland. This performance was at the Northern Lights Bellydance Festival in Rockford, IL. October, 2015.
  • Here is my solo performance (improvizational) to No Diggety (the fantastic Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox version, featuring Ariana Savalas) from Shakila Bellydance's Annual Showcase, September 2015.
  • I did another improvisational performance of Baladi Accordian at "An Evening of Belly Dance" in Glendale, WI, on June 13, 2015.
  • My amazing student troupe, Raks Habibis, performing Dare (by Shakira), also at "An Evening of Belly Dance" on June 13, 2015
  • My improvisational performance of Baladi Accordian at the World Bellydance Stage Show in Grand Forks, ND, hosted by the Lovely Dozen, May 30th 2015.

Here are links to videos of some of my 2014 performances.

  • A holiday goodie: improvisational performance from the Ho Ho Ho Habibi show in Illinois, December, 2014 (Man With The Bag by the Brian Setzer Orchestra).
  • And one from my student troupe, Raks Habibis: Marshmallow World by Dean Martin, also from the Ho Ho Ho Habibi show in Illinois, December, 2014.
  • An improvisational performance from the Raks Unveiled bellydance weekend in Detroit, MI, May 3, 2014 (it's Miasia's Beladi again - I love that song!).
  • Bellydance improv to Miasia's Beladi by the Henkesh Brothers, March 16, 2014, at the Silk Road Souk & Shimmy fundraiser in Oak Park, IL.
  • Fusion improv to Rock On by Collide, March 29, 2014, at the Joseph's Labyrinth fundraiser for Prune Belly Syndrome in Elgin, IL.

And a few older performances (I wonder what happened to the rest of 2012 and 2013? If I find those video clips I'll post those too):
